They will be available for sale in early April. We have had very good results in the past and expect the same this year. Please visit the Midland Bull Test and WBCIA sites to learn more about the testing process.

Our outstanding new herd sire, Granger 7X Big Sky 888, was the high indexing bull on test at Midland in 2009! This young sire should transmit superior feed efficiency to his offspring as he is the second bull calf out of his dam to top the WDA competition at Midland along with possessing Genestar (r) MVP ratings of -2.0 for Tenderness (top 20%) and -1.46 for Feed Efficiency (top 40%).

Wyoming Livestock Roundup published this article on 7X Ranches in their March 21, 2009 edition. Titled 7X Ranches focuses on ′efficiency′ by Jennifer Womack.

When the opportunity arose to test bulls for efficiency — how well they convert feed to pounds — Larry Morrison of 7X Ranches near Lingle welcomed the news. “You’ve got to work at it,” he says of improving feed efficiency, “but it’s one that has an actual dollar value.”
Testing bulls at the Midland Bull Test and with the Wyoming Beef Cattle Improvement Association (WBCIA) test since the late 1990s, Morrison was already watching the numbers as they related to his cattle. Larry doesn’t have cattle on test with WBCIA this year, but his long-time involvement with the program and his commitment to quality seedstock production have earned him recognition as the WBCIA’s seedstock producer of the year.
